   Dead head

finn is inspired by rock, folk, jazz and blues. Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead has over time infleunced finn music the most.

Ravage

Jørgen D.N and Finn formed Ravage in the mid 1980's.

A couple of he members of Rose left the band. Jørgen D.N and Finn contued with some new ideas and added a few other emebers. Jørgen D.N. vocal and guitar, Finn on vocal and guitar, Torben on drums and Jørgen Dør on guitar was addded. Jørgen Dør sang a couple of his own in the middle of first set.

The band was rooted in Fredericia and Odense. So a most of the gigs was in these two cities but the band also played a lot in Kolding, Vejle and Århus.

The origin of the name is not clearly described anywhere. Appearenly the banded started to call them self Passage, which is an expression used for a part of a music piece. They found out that there already been a punk band in UK using the name.  And on top of it another band took thesame basic  idea and called them self Message. In respond the band changed name to Savage and yet another band called temself Bondage. The figth for fun names ended when the band called themself Slitage for fun for a month or two and finally ended  up with the name, Ravage.

The band used also play in Odense in Hansens Værtshus, Badstuen and Casablinca. Sometimes as warm up but mainly as the evenings top band. There are some radio recordings from DR somewhere.

Burger Billy and Villy Vab
On a couple accoations another band with Burger Billy and Villy Vab played in the same night. There always were a friednly competition between the two bands. On one occation in Badstuen Burger Billy had really teased especially the drummer, Torben. He called Sam Spade, which Spade. Same Spade as last year. Ravage though they take revence in outplaying Burger Billy and Villy Vab. The band especially Jørgen D.N. and had warmed up musically by drinking  a whole lot beers. The gig organisers has organsed a never ending stream of beers.

So when the revenceful band Ravage went on stage they were speeded so all the song in the set list for both the two planned sets were palyed in double tempo. It took 35 minutes. The crowd were dancing wildly while the band went of the stage. WHen the came down to musicians room there were load os new beers. So they started to drink knowing that Burger Billy and Villy VAb and thir band would have a hard time to live up to it. There were an thick atmosphere of "we won this round"

But after 45 minuets and nothing really happped the organiser and the sound engineer came to ask the band when they would start the agreed second set. The band had no choice to play go on stage and play some more. So they played almost the same song again but in a more moderate tempo and they added a fewf extra songs they could remember without preparation.

The review the next day
The band could not recognise themselve in the review. The reviewer called the music for heavy rock with a lot energy and spark. Of the banded remeberd that the drummer probably had defined the style that evening. He had played all the tols and sixtols he would have known. On top it the prolonged verion of Hey Joe merging over in Knocking on Heavens Door must have enforced the impression of heavy rock in close to Guns and Roses style.

Finn is sure that Burger Billy and Villy Vab must have had the feeling that they won this night competetion. At least they both had a big smile on thier faces time the two bands met.

Ravage of course never repreated this kind of gigs. But went down to their own style defined as a combination of folk rock, claasical rock and paasages with dreaming meditative music.
